We got away (Finally!) on Saturday, September 2, 2023. We were a little worried about Labor Day traffic over the weekend, so we got up at 3:00 am and got
the rig all packed up and hit the road by aboiut 6:30 am. Drove down to Eugene, Oregon. The traffic was stellar all the way -- AT or near the speed limit all the way.
We spent a week in and around Eugene, primarily here to visit with Gloria's mom, Marlene, and sister Kim.
Weather was great -- About 75 degerees for a high during the day. We stayed at Eugene Premium RV Resort, and the place is excellent -- Would recommend it in a heartbeat. Clean surroundings, friendly staff, very well maintained park. I used the public shower and it was VERY nice, and used the public laundry once too (we do have washer and dryer in the rig; But needed to wash a couple larger blankets that just don't fit well into those smaller units) -- Equally impressive. We spent a week in Eugene and left the 10th, Sunday. Our eventual destination is to be in New England for the fall colors by the end of the first week in October. I think I have it pretty well mapped out so we stay in nice places ABOUT every four days, after ABOUT 400 miles of driving each leg. Should be okay for us and the puppies (yeah, puppies - right), since it was right at 300 to get to Eugene and was no sweat. We finally left Eugene on September 10th (yesterday as I type this), and headed diagonally back up to the northeast so we can hit I-90 in Washington which will be our road of travel for the next few legs we think. We ended up in Connell, Washington, just outside of Tri-Cities. It was warm by the time we got to setting up our spot at Coyote Run RV Park. But the THREE roof-A/C units got us cooled down to mid-70's inside just fine. |
